Book I read as a child

Hello, is this the correct place to ask? My memory of this book is very vague but I remember one sentence. “it’s no fun being boss alone” and it had colorful illustrations. It had a picture of a king sitting on a throne, with nobody around. I feel like it was kind of a rhyming story. One other thing I remember is that it contained some very large words that were hard to pronounce. I wish I could remember the name of the book. Part of me feels like animals were part of it too, like tigers. That sentence about the boss sticks out the most for some reason. The pages were also more horizontally rectangular if that makes any sense.
