Hey y'all, on first glance this might be a ridiculous question to ask on a Lost Media forum, but hear me out:
I'm sure most of you are familiar with the song "Kiss Me More" by Doja Cat and SZA. However, there is an OG version that was initially released on all streaming platforms but replaced by an updated version fairly quickly. I'm working in the music industry and I can reassure you that this actually is a common practice nowadays, that songs are updated or corrected sometimes, mostly adding new background vocals or simply changing the file.
This is not me making an assumption that this version exists, I literally had the OG version in my playlist on YouTube, somebody uploaded the file and I never thought twice about it because it remained there since forever. Unfortunately, the video doesn't exist anymore, it was either deleted or put on private. Side note: I am not talking about a demo version of the song, I'm talking about a file that was initially available for streaming upon release. I tried to look into many YouTube videos like lyrics videos or anything by smaller channels that uploaded the song right after its release, though they all surprisingly have the updated file playing.
The OG version actually didn't feature anything besides a completely different recording take for SZA's part: it seems like they weren't satisfied with the original take and decided to re-record her verse (for whatever reason lol the OG was better in my opinion). They also changed some background vocals / ad-libs and removed a "vocal run" at the ending of her verse, transitioning into the final chorus sung by Doja.
Does anybody else remember listening to this mysterious version that nobody kinda talks about or has the file of? does anyone maybe even have the OG file?
