AND IT'S SWEEEEET, SWEEEEET, SWEEEET VICTORY, YEAAAAAAHH!
2024 has strangely been the best year for lost media. I was both having this feeling that this song was going to be found, but also fearing that it might remain lost. At least one of those feelings have been confirmed.
It's one of the reasons why I adore the Lost Media community; when something big gets found, we all gather around like it's a big family, celebrating what I'm certain that not many would've thought to be possible. Finally hearing the proper end to this song is just something that makes you feel alive again.
With an edit to this post on it being not fully confirmed, it's way too professional to be a cover, if that makes any sense. The only thing that sounds a little different are the vocals.
As to why the vocals sound a bit different, it might be an early demo or something.
There’s a possibility that it’s the other way around, and that the vocals sound a bit different because the uncovered version from today is a studio version, while the NDR one we’ve had for years is possibly a demo

That's what I was wondering. It's also in no question that a person's vocals can change slightly overtime, even in their singing voice. It makes me wonder if there's a full version of the demo as well.
I’d recommend translating the page and reading it yourself, but the highlights are:
- Another live version is in their possession - It looks like the master tape for the studio version of the song is in their possession (the 3:54/4:04 length one) - They did not submit the song to NDR2 themselves all the way back in 1984 where Lydia and Darius recorded it, meaning that this is still a mystery as to how the song got onto NDR2 - They did not know about the search in the slightest before around a few days ago when contact was established
- The pieces of proof they can provide are: “- Original recording of the studio session - Recording from the rehearsal room before the studio session - Live recording of at least two of our performances where the song was played - Statements from the original band members - Witnesses from the studio session (our agent at the time) - Detailed description of the recording situation - The unmistakable voice of the singer” And possibly more potentially.
