I applied for the closed beta program of Sonic Rumble (which still hasn't been publicly released) and I was accepted. I selected iOS because that's the kind of phone I had, they told me to download the Testflight app, and sent me a code to enter in it to download the game (it wasn't downloaded via the App Store). I played during the three allotted testing times (the game wouldn't log in outside of those), provided feedback, and the closed beta period ended. The app can't be opened anymore, but my phone storage shows it's still taking up 909 MB, presumably all the installed data. I think the Testflight app said the whole thing expired in November (can't remember a specific date, but it could be as soon as 2 days from now). I don't know if that means the app deletes itself, or if that's more for the publisher running the beta period.
The APK for the Android version has already been leaked, but I wanted to dump the iOS version too, which requires a jailbreak. I actually got a new phone a couple weeks ago (partially with this in mind, but my old phone has age-related issues now, so it was time anyway), and was going to jailbreak my old phone. However, since setting up my new phone, Testflight doesn't let me in at all, asking for a code. Sonic Rumble is still there, still taking up 909 MB (the icon is also on my new phone, but clicking it gives a "can't download" message, since it wasn't distributed by Apple). Does anyone have experience with jailbreaks? Would I be risking erasing the app? Apparently data loss is always a risk with jailbreaks. I want to do this quickly, in case it does delete itself upon expiration.
