almost no one reading this will probably be familiar with this band, as it never really took off, but who worked on it may sound familiar. The main singer is Ross Golan, popular for his job in songwriting for artists like Lizzo, and Tommy Walter, who’s the lead singer of Abandoned Pools, and created the theme song for the show Clone High.
Glacier Hiking currently has a total of 16 archieved tracks (found here youtube.com/playlist?list=PLub9SJ14jX2XBh-IouYzngmoJ6HJW_6OF&si=AbNtoH6pxh-K5YaM) and a total of 9 songs that are currently lost. 1 of the 9 songs called “In Your Arms” has a short clip found, and that is it. i’ll list the songs that are missing down below for anyone who would like to help, or at least try to give me some new info :3
me and my friend have tried contacting the both of them through instagram and twitter as well. i doubt they’ll answer to some random kid (like myself) for obvious reasons, so maybe we need someone higher up and more popular to ask, but it also seems to be a sensitive topic for the both of them possibly.
When asked about it in interviews (which is very rare anymore) the both of them only give little details and try not to talk about it a lot. it was said in an interview that one of them (not said who) was basically too cocky and it got them into some sort of argument.
my friend also contacted the director of the Glacier Hiking EPK, as well as a former band member of Glacier Hiking, Yutaka Sao. the director didn’t have access to any of the music because of how long ago he worked on that (2007), and the former band member said that the last thing Ross told him was that he wasn’t allowed to give out unreleased or missing stuff. it’s a really tricky situation, but we still managed to squeeze out 3 songs from a former fan who had some downloaded. i’m assuming that’s how we’ll have to find the rest if no one can get information out of Tommy, as Ross isn’t really that active online anymore.
