How should broken redirects be handled?

Since the Delete template has been - ironically enough - deleted at least three times and I don't feel like putting the code for such a template directly into broken redirect pages as I feel like that would violate the "leave template creation to admins" rule, what's the best way to deal with broken redirects on LMW instead of leaving them there? I'd say it'd be best if you let an admin on the site (or possibly the forums) know of them so they can delete the offending pages.
