Possibly Lost Movie with a Bank Robbery and an Alien

I never saw this movie in full, I only got a passing glance at it as a young child, younger than 7. So this movie would have to have come out BEFORE 2013.
From what I can remember, there was a scene where a guy ran down a flight of stairs outside of the front door of a bank after robbing it and jumped into the back seat of a car waiting at the base of the stairs, the car was a taxi I think. The doors to the car may have already been open. He jumped into the back seat, but on the side away from his side, was an ET-like alien. Then the car drove off. This is all I saw and can remember. It's baffled me ever since. I think it was my Dad watching this on his computer when I caught that glimpse of it. I don't think he's ever been able to tell me what movie it is or even remembers it (he's seen a lot of alien movies). People have told it's "Paul", but no one has ever actually showed me the scene from Paul it supposedly is, and Google searching for that scene (whether attached to Paul or not) with the details i remember yields nothing. I'm not just trying to find the film, but mainly this scene. The movie attached is just a bonus, as I'd like to see the full thing after all this time.
The scene was split into 2 shots. The running down the stairs part was a shot facing the guy head on. And the getting in the car part's perspective was where the bank's door would be at the top of the stairs, overlooking the guy getting in the car. He got into the back right side, the alien was sitting on the back left side. Something I'd like to stress from what I can remember is that the alien was NOT the focal point of the scene, it was the bank robbery. The alien was just quietly there and extremely notable due to how out of place they were. From what I can remember, the robber and getaway/taxi driver were both male, and the alien was of an undisclosed gender as it never said anything or was mentioned by the other characters in the small bit I saw. In the full movie, this scene would probably be longer, as I only saw a small bit of it.
Oh yeah, one last detail. When I asked my dad who was watching the movie what it was in that moment, he said it was "Godfather 2", that's something I explicitly remember. I've never seen that movie, but google searching and asking has given me no evidence that a bank robbery scene nor aliens are in Godfather 2. I'm entirely stumped as to what this could POSSIBLY be, and I really want closure after the past over 12 years of wondering. Does anyone have any ideas?
