From 2009-2011 Sega had been releasing many of their Sega Genesis games on iOS via the AppStore, using an emulator known internally as iGenesis, in 2011 a release for the game Columns was released, in what appears to be Japan only, not to be confused with the already released Columns Deluxe which was a full on remake of the game released for iOS in 2008..
I cannot find anything on the game besides its original iTunes page and references to version histories on Sega Retro..

In my opinion I think they are just interesting oddities of apps, some may have nostalgia towards these versions of the apps/games, while yes they do use the game roms on an emulator, I’d still argue that these are worth tracking down, to preserve a small part of SEGA”s history, especially in the Mobile Gaming space.
