I don't think I have enough character space to phrase the title of this thread correctly, so my apologies. I also don't remember if I made a thread like this a long time ago, so my bad there too if I have and it's just buried.
Basically I wanted to know if there's anything you'd either like to write an article on or see something go up, but there's (as far as you know) very little information on the topic and it probably wouldn't be worth the trouble.
I know with my contributions to the request page, there's a lot of topics that aren't my wheelhouse and I'm admittedly uneducated on the subject to write something super detailed. A good example there is the allegedly unreleased work by hip-hop producer Paul C in the late 90s, who is credited in helping to pioneer the style and sound of the East Coast scene at the time. His Wikipedia page loosely talks about how former partners said he likely has stuff in storage or that they themselves likely do.
This all came back to me as I'm having my bi-monthly Todd in the Shadows marathon and while his Trainwreckords review on Edgar Winter's collaborative album with L. Ron Hubbard (Mission Earth), I forgot that during the album's production and promotion, Edgar and his team with Rhino records made a music video for one of the tracks that was going to be 3D -- which for the time, sounds kind of cool.
According to Todd, the inspiration for the 3D angle came from them seeing that Elvira has some success with this - even going as far as to reaching out to the same people who worked with her. Something went wrong and the footage was rendered unusable and discarded. A 3D Scientology adjacent music video is oddly and wildly fascinating to me. I know it would be great to see a write-up on, but since even Todd glossed over it, I take it there's very little to report on with this to write something detailed without it being very short like some of the articles on low budget horror movies and niche albums.
What topics come to mind for all of you for this kind of thing? I know I've been impressed and flat out blown away by how detailed some articles get with topics that I figured are so obscure or lost to time that they would just be the straight bare bones, so maybe something out of my scope isn't a sweat for someone else.
