Developed by Geppetto inc, iYamato was a "how long can you survive" style game where you played as the Yamato battleship that sunk in WW2. A few sites made short articles about the game, although it remained obscure for it's entire existence of the App store. The last upload on Geppetto inc's youtube page was 7 years ago, only 1 year after advertising Yamato, so I assume that Yoshiyuki Miyagawa (CEO of the company Geppetto inc) was not satisfied with his profits after a long time in the video game industry (14 years at Square Enix)

Based on this forum thread mentioned in the Touch Arcade article - forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=17250 Yoshiyuki stopped updating the game around 2010, if you look to page 18. He was last active early 2010. forums.toucharcade.com/member.php?s=93ffe833cce00d84b82a87a6dcfcf7db&u=9787

Would love to find a download someday but like some of my other ventures, this one looks pretty unlikely to locate, but I've gotten lucky before.

Crazy. Also that the app got into the top 10 on the app store in Japan in 2009.

I managed to find his twitter: twitter.com/hotmiyacchi but he hasn't been active in a month, though it's a better prospect than the rest of the leads. I tried to tweet to him but it seems that one of my plugins or twitter is acting up and I can't type messages right.
