Bookmarked this because this sounds WILD & it's certainly been a bizarre journey so far! Hope you can finally find & rip this absurd moment in ABC history.
(also your friend's mom being a republic who got drunk honestly figures)
I partake in the wine so I'm not one to talk when it comes to that lol.
I guess I'm different because even when I become 21(graduated high school), I would not dare touch alcohol or wine with a 10 ft. pole.
Dreams are boundless, imaginations are infinite, space is a multi-directional spiral & Akazukin ChaCha is my favorite anime

"I partake in the wine"
"The wine" is so funny to me for some stupid ass reason
I'm nothing but a mass of concrete yet my heart is calling my name
I am assuming she was at home watching TV when some form of interruption occurred? Is it possible that an advertisement or commercial featuring Obama in some way (even as a background actor) either played during a break or even glitched during the show? Would she say it was real life or could it have been some kind of cartoon?

The Kids' Block Blog is really good at documenting these sorts of interruptions. I found one post on there that mentions Bugs Bunny and Tweety, which aired at 11:00AM, being interrupted around the date mentioned. According to this, Winnie the Pooh aired at 8:00AM. If this person lived in the Pacific timezone, which is three hours behind, Winnie the Pooh would have actually been airing during the interruption.

i sure hope they have footage of it, otherwise well never see it.

I'm guessing they do. How else would they add entries to their posts about special reports interrupting shows? It wouldn't hurt to contact them.

We can't reasonably expect every television interruption to have been captured and recorded. If this case is about learning what the story was, we seem to have an answer. The endpoint can't be to actually find a recording, that's unlikely to even exist in the world.
I did about 15 minutes of research on this and found out that February 20, 1993 was a Saturday and ABC did play Winnie the Pooh on Saturday mornings. I guess this adds a minuscule shred of credibility since we all know The Disney Channel isn’t going to be interrupted by a presidential announcement. And yeah, I don’t think it would have been Obama. She’s either mistaken or joking on that account.
Maybe it was a commercial or something that the president was in or someone who looked similar.

Actually she was in the hospital, about to give birth to my friend lol.
