Greetings, Lost Media Wiki. I have recently been trying to find out as much information as I can on one particular cancelled game for a while now and I was hoping that this forum might be of some help. There was a Sonic the Hedgehog game that was intended to be released on the Sega Saturn. In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's a Wikipedia article that goes into much more detail:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_X-treme
Other than that, I've yet to find much else. Here's everything I know (Some of this was already in the Wikipedia article, but oh well):
- A test engine was found for one of the earlier versions of the game.
- At least 1 prototype exists, but it isn't available to the public.
- There was an attempt to recreate the game and bring it to PC (This version of the game is the one I'm the most interested in).
- At some point, Chris Senn released concept art and concept music.
- There were some characters planned to debut in the game who were scrapped along with the game and never seen again.
- Okay, this one could easily (and probably is) be fake: I have found a youtube channel that has uploaded what is, allegedly, the concept soundtrack of Sonic X-treme. Here is an example:

There are many more pieces of the ''Sondtrack'' on his channel. These could easily be fake or fan made, but I decided to put it in here, just in case anyone can prove or disprove it.
- Finally, there are four gameplay videos available on YouTube of a version of the game that has yet to be found or released. They are each of a different zone. Here they are:
Jade Gully Zone: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aD3xX0zcrs
Red Sands Zone: www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZb7LE6G5Gg
Crystal Frost Zone: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzvS_beXtXk
Galaxy Fortress Zone/Death Egg Zone: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nto4ctFSWkc
Oddly enough, the Crystal Frost footage is significantly longer than the other three. (NOTE: All four of these videos have been confirmed real.)
And that's just about everything I was able to find. If you know anything about this game that was not included in this post, then PLEASE share it. I am fascinated to no end by the mystery this game is shrouded in. Thank you for your time.
