I hate to be one of THOSE people making a post about pre-school lost media (this will undoubtedly anger dozens of people on Twitter I'm not gonna beat the allegations after archiving those Oswald tapes lmao) but this is something I find kind of interesting. A few years ago, I bought a Dora press kit that includes a document detailing the show a couple months before it aired (plus one after it aired detailing Little Star being treated as a special event), and it mentions an online event where you "help Dora get to Nick Jr. on TV" playing into the whole thing with the show being like a computer game early on, as well as shorts that would have aired on TV tracking her progress.
July 17: Online Event - Help Dora Get to Your TV! (Games 2-5)
Dora needs the viewers' and site visitors' help to get to Nick Jr. on the TV in their homes! Four
weeks prior to the television debut of the series, Nick Jr. viewers will be asked to go online to
help Dora on her journey as she travels from her house to Crocodile Lake, through the Spooky
Forest, across Puzzle Bridge, and finally to their homes. To get to each of her destinations, one
new game will be launched each week leading up to the series premiere on August 14. Dora's
progress will be tracked on air via interstitials within the Nick Jr. programming block.

The first 3 games that are "part of the event" (The game where you find Boots like in the credits is listed as game 1 in the doc but not explicitly part of the event) are Crocodile Lake, Spooky Forest, and Puzzle Bridge are on Flashpoint because they're pretty normal, but the main one this is about seems to be totally lost/existence unconfirmed, called "Let's Make Your House!", and to directly quote the press release:
Assuming they actually went through with this neat little thing, they would've removed the game after the show aired because it wouldn't make sense for that to still be playable.
A few years ago I tried going to the old Nick Jr. site through the Wayback Machine and early versions of the Dora flash site but I didn't find anything relating to this. So, y'know, I don't know if this major event happened or not. It's possible they scrapped the idea.
If anybody's interested in seeing the press kit, I uploaded it to Archive. I got the image slides scanned today so I decided to upload it, and I figure I'd mention this whole event thing while I was at it.
It would be very interesting to see whether or not this happened. I was born in 2002 so this is a bit before my time. Anybody old enough to remember this happening?
The journey is almost complete. The last thing Dora
and Boots need is a picture of the user's house so they can visit. Dora has an 'art kit' in her
Backpack that the user can use to make a picture of his/her house. First, Backpack displays
three groups of objects and the user must pick out the 'art kit.' When they do so, Dora assists
the user, in a step-by-step process, in creating the house. Once the house is complete, the
user clicks on the Map icon in the lower corner of the screen and the house appears on Dora's
Map! This game ends with an extra prize - the ability to e-mail the finished Map to Dora!
As soon as she gets the e-mail, Dora sends one back to say when she'll be on TV.
