I remember back in the good old days of Creepypasta I saw one Candle Cove video on YouTube that truly scarred me for years. I watched it no later than 2011, as I remember watching it on my grandparents’ desktop computer at their old house that they moved out of that year.
Anyways the video was titled along the lines of “CANDLE COVE REAL EPISODE 18+ DO NOT WATCH AT NIGHT” or something clickbaity like that. But the one thing that I remember from the particular video was a very creepy grey face, with a big, wide toothy grin and pure black eyes. It was probably the scariest thing I’d ever seen up to that point. The face didn’t have a nose from what I recall, it kind of looked like one of those weird face bank toys from Japan. This video and the face in it traumatized me for years. For a very long time I was afraid to Google “Candle Cove” in fear that I’d see the face again. As you can tell from my recreation it has remained burned into my mind ever since then. After many years, however, when Creepypastas weren’t scary to me anymore, I decided to try and look for the image again, because there’s no way it’s actually as scary as I remember, right? Well, I tried looking things up on YT like “candle cove 18+ before:2012” and could not find the video for the life of me. I couldn’t even find a screenshot of it. It seems the video is lost to time now.
Does anyone else here remember seeing this video from way back in the day? This is not an ARG or anything this was definitely something that actually existed. I’m also wondering if the video still exists, somewhere, or if it’s truly lost now, existing only as a scarring memory.
