How would I do it there is a donate button right? (I'm on the mobile site right now)
There should be an option at the bottom of the page to switch to the desktop version of the forums, then you should be able to see the donate button down the bottom.

Would it be a good idea to enable ads for a bit if you know that money's going to be tight? I'm not bothered by banner ads and it could bring in a few extra monies.

yeah banner ads dont bug me at all...its just damn video ads piss me off, but i just donated my 10 bucks...if you ever need help im shure most users are nice enough to help out..its honestly the first time i ever donated any money to a website. i just love you guys so much
