A portable vocal booth which is nearly finished. I need a way to record voice overs for videos I am working on, but I don't have anywhere I could make a permanent vocal booth, so I decided to make a full sized portable one I could put up, sit inside and do my recordings then take it apart again and build it again when needed. I originally tried to build the frame out of ABS plastic pipes and 3 way furniture corners but couldn't get the 3 way corners or pipes the right diameter to fit each other and had to give up on that and ended up making the frame out of wood.
I made two of the sides in such a way that I can keep them assembled and all I have to do is screw in the 4 wooden beams I have to join the sides together and attach the 4 acoustic blankets I have. I got some large thick acoustic foam panels for the ceiling of it. I tried to make it tall enough for me to stand inside but made it just a little short so I have to put a chair in it and sit in it when I want to do my recordings.
When I am done recording, I can take it apart again and put it back up when needed. With the length of the beams, it is a bit tricky screwing the beams to the assembled sides by it myself without it wanting to fall over but it is the best solution I could come up with.
