(copied from the video's description):
In case it isn't obvious, THIS IS NOT ME SINGING. I have no idea who sings this, which is exactly why I'm posting this video.
The song in the video is something that I have looking for on and off again for several years now. The funny thing is, most people probably already know what this song is, it's a cover of "River Lullaby" from the movie The Prince Of Egypt. But the song itself is not what I've been looking for, but the singer.
I first stumbled across this cover years ago in this Naruto AMV: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxc14X3QaE8, I absolutely loved the way it sounded, and immediately checked the description to see who sang this cover. The uploader listed the singer as Amy Grant, but that's just the name of the woman who sang it for the official Prince Of Egypt soundtrack, which is widely available and sounds nothing like this version.
So, I searched through YouTube, trying to find whoever made the cover, but I unfortunately came up fruitless. As were any other attempts at finding the singer.
However, during my one of my searches, I was lucky enough to find this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mfc7FyPW1_o, which not only used the exact same song, but an extended/full version of it (the same version you're hearing in the video).
Unfortunately, I've made little to no progress since then. Both uploaders of the videos containing the song haven't been active in over a decade, so I can't ask them, and just scouring through YouTube looking at various covers hasn't turned up much. Some covers that sound kind of close to this one, but none that are an exact match.
My current theory is that this cover originated not on YouTube at all, but on some third-party site that was popular in the early 2010's. Such as a pre-purge MySpace or perhaps even GrooveShark. This might explain why finding the original creator behind this cover on YT has been so difficult, but I could just be looking in the wrong place.
So I'm hoping with the upload of this video someone will be able to recognize the artist behind this cover. This song is very beautiful, and I'd love to give my compliments to the singer, or at the very least, be able to listen their other songs (if they have them).
