Sloppy Seconds is a long-celebrated punk band hailing from Indianapolis. They've had a 40+ year career, so I thought I'd dedicate this thread to some important and obscure media that's popped up related to them over the years:
This one's been around for a while, but not many people have seen it. This is a bizarre, early TV appearance by the band on the local cable access show Hitmakers Showcase in 1988-1989. All band members are either missing, or playing the wrong instrument, miming to a studio track.
The next is an important, new find from a month ago. To preface, punk music videos were often made on the cheap and didn't get much airtime in the 80s/early 90s. Thus, many go lost or survive in a very degraded state. This was the case for Sloppy Seconds' first video "Veronica" from 1989. Don't believe me? Just look for yourself. In an unexpected find, the original director, Michael Wood, digitized the original tape source. Danny, the band's guitarist posted it on YouTube and Facebook (not sure which has better compression). Keep in mind resolution is limited from a tape master, but it's fulfilling to know it's been shared and archived in its original quality.
Finally, the most obscure that no one was aware of before it dropped; the band's first TV appearance and possibly second ever performance in 1985. The show is another local cable access program called "The Trouble is in Your Set." Again, this was shared by Danny and digitized by the original producer, Jeff Lint.
