When I was around 13 (+-2) years old I think, I was with a friend watching TV. There was an ad break and suddenly between two ordinary and regular ads, we saw a woman, from what I remember she had a grotesque face. We could say she was a zombie. She was in the middle of a living room. But the think that makes that until today I remember at 21 yo is that the woman was looking at us breaking the 4th wall and "trying to reach us". Then another ad started.
It was a very weird and unscary moment until the new ad started and we just froze. I asked my friend if he saw what I saw and at that moment he just told me to don't mind. He is older than me but I know him since forever because our parents are best friends, and as an only child, he was acted like a big brother. I say that because three years after when I saw him again, as he had move far away, I asked him if he remembered the ad, and he turned pale and told me to never talk him about that woman ever. Only to say, that we really saw that thing.
That weird ad really gave us a little trauma (lol) but I am somehow rational and, obviously, know that it wasn't a paranormal event. I wanted to know if someone could have seen this woman too.
Important details :
- Switzerland TV network
- Around 2013-2015
- Kids TV Network and almost sure that it was Cartoon Network
- But it could also be Nickelodeon
If someone might have archives of TV around that time or share the same experience, I will be (really) glad to read you.
That's a super eerie experience! It's crazy how those moments can stick with us for so long. I haven't seen anything like that, but it's fascinating (and a bit unsettling) to think there might be a creepy ad out there on a kids' network. Maybe someone here has old recordings or remembers seeing something similar? TV networks do air some odd stuff occasionally. Hopefully, someone can shed some light on this mystery!
It's a bumper for a Adult Swim show, and it aired in 2013.
Hey ! Thanks for the answer. That was surely scary but it wasn’t that. The person in the TV didn’t make any sound, she was just trying to touch the 4th wall. I am pretty sure when I say this because our family wasn’t very far of the living room, so they would have heard that I guess.

Yeah really. Frankly, the part that bothers me most is that my cousin doesn’t really care anymore and I understand it because that’s just his personality but for me it’s more like « It’s weird, I have no explanation and I vividly need one. »
Curious, did the channel broadcast in the French, German, or Italian language?
It was in french.
Maybe try watching Adult Swim Bumper compilations. Or perhaps it was a PSA for something, idk. A lot of horrifying PSAs played during ad breaks in kids networks, like the Chef PSA where her face gets boiled off.

It could've possibly aired on Adult Swim, the block did air for a period on the French feed of Cartoon Network, which is available in Switzerland. Maybe this could've been an ad for a movie? The Saw films did some odd commercials back in the 2000s.

I will then. I guess it’s a hint to follow. Let’s get even more traumatized yay !

I will follow this hint as cheeseplanet suggested too but didn’t AdultSwim aired partially on Cartoon Network more in the night ? Because, when the screamer ad event happened it was like around the early afternoon. But maybe it was a broadcast mistake ?
Oh man, those last few ones certainly look like they could be what OP saw. Granny with the strange rainbow face, and the one where she advances on the viewer and swings an ax at us... Just when you thought you've seen every weird adult swim bumper, there's always another!
