I got this idea from Football/Soccer's extra time and penalty shootouts when tied matches run on too long.
While this doesn't happen often, there are times when a baseball game will go to extra innings. To prevent games going on too long with both teams stay tied in extra innings, there should be something like "Home Run Innings" which would start if both teams are still tied after two or three extra innings if it game goes that far. This would work similarly to the MLB Home Run Derby, so no batters have to run. They just try and hit the most home runs as possible and the team with the most points by the end of an inning, wins. This should prevent games that stay tied in extra innings just running on and on until the game gets called a tie. The only disadvantage of this is that there could be a chance for teams going to extra innings, potentially trying to make the game go to home runs so one team has a potential advantage.
