In 2021 I had an Invader Zim phase and I loved how dark it was for being on Nickelodeon so I became obsessed with like "darkest episodes of kids' shows" videos, and a guy who had a lot of videos like that was blameitonjorge so I'd binge a lot of his videos often. Eventually I came across his "top 40 banned and lost episodes of kids shows" or whatever it was called, and while I didn't know what 'lost' meant, I liked the 'banned' part because that meant those episodes were probably banned for being too dark. Badabing badaboom I learned what 'lost media' was and looked more into it and found all kinds of interesting topics like the 3D pilot for Invader Zim so I stuck around the community in hopes they'd find it and now I've kinda just been here for awhile hanging out
ZIM was kind of how I got my start too. I found out just how many episodes of that show had been scripted but cancelled, so I started looking around fansites like roomwithamoose to find out more info about these lost episodes and then wondered how many other shows I was watching had lost episodes as well.

Besides watching Blameitonjorge's lost media channel, there was this YouTube channel called "Shoegazer Productions" who used to post lost media videos. They were very simply made and without background music, but they were still interesting to watch. He rarely posts videos these days.
There were also many shows and videos that I watched during my childhood that I hadn't seen since and this forum helped me identify a few, including one that I hated at the time but I like it now.
A furry with eclectic tastes who loves the 80s and 90s. Mostly 1984-1992.
Probably when Trap Lore Ross’ original channel was deleted in early 2019. And I got recommended by YouTuber Advance Archive to go onto this forum. Because I made a comment about him.
It was entirely because of Jorge's top 40 lost and banned episodes of kids shows video.
I had to have watched it right around the time it was uploaded it, which is probably why it was even suggested to me in the first place as I hadn't watched a lot of other cartoon related videos at the time. And of course there were hardly any other lost media videos around at that time either. Specifically the Kablam Episode 29 segment is what got me into the community, after looking into that I came across the Wiki itself along with several early contributors to the site.
I've probably said this before but the early days of the community are so fascinating, and there were a few other creators at the time who were putting in the work like ShroomTube, CartoonCatastrophe, Bedhead Bernie, and Shoegazer as was mentioned above. Meltingman was also around super early but he called his videos Forgotten Media and it wasn't as closely connected to the modern definition of lost media.

The Beta Collection series I remember seeing an image of in his old intro sequence as shown in some classic Forgotten Media episodes & looking it up lead me nowhere, so they're like an urban legend to me.

For the same reason I'm sure many of us got into lost media, from Blameitonjorges Top 40 lost or banned episodes of kids shows. I saw it all the way back in 2015 and the rest is history, I've only recently started being active on the forums, I mostly just lurked on the forums and discord
For me, it was Jorge's top 40 lost/banned cartoons. Possibly somewhere around 2017-18. Strange as it sounds, it really opened my eyes to lost media. I fell down a rabbit hole, and the rest is history.
