Honestly don't remember... probably sometime around 2021-ish. Some of the first channels I started watching were LssQ and blameitonjorge. Kinda found my niche with lost Nickelodeon content after watching a lot of LssQ and some of Poparena's early Nick Knacks videos. Also got into Nintendo lost media (as well as Japanese lost media) through Sakura Stardust sometime in 2022.

Tbh, I think I was always kinda interested in lost media. I remember back in 2011-2013 searching for rarities and gems from various sorts of media - whether it was abandonware games, old sporting events, or episodes of shows that I vaguely remembered but couldn't put the nail on. I remember back in 2012-2014 I was obsessed with finding early 2000s MLB content, in particular the 2000-2001 time period (especially full games) as I was feeling very nostalgic for that era in baseball.
But blameitonjorge's 2016 video really cemented it for me and it was an "ah ha!" moment. I love the way that video is presented - not necessarily creepy but slightly uncanny and lucid. The music remix in that video goes hard too. Introduced me to HUVA Network.
Which blameitonjorge's 2016 video are you talking about? Many of them had this mysterious and a bit creepy music, but the one that brought me to the concept of lost media was this one that I referenced earlier.
Specifically referring to this one:
This was the video that defined lost media for me. I had always been interested in the subject, but I never had a proper introduction to it.

That one was also good.

Finding out about so many television and radio broadcasts that were never recorded, especially the earliest ones like the experimental television transmissions in the 1920s, and Reginald Fessenden's radio broadcast in 1906.

That's really such a shame those are lost forever.

I've thought about it a lot, but I think my first exposure to lost media and the fascination around that kind of things was probably around 2005 with Snopes.com. I don't really like the site's design now but back then it was easy to flip through like a wiki and read about these strange stories about forbidden Wicked Witch episodes of Sesame Street... and some of these scary stories were true. I think I was on board with blameitonjorge pretty early on with the big list videos. I know I was definitely using the LMW back when it was on the old wiki, so however long ago that was, though I didn't make a forum account for a while.

I miss 2000s Snopes and some of the crazy stories I would read on there. Looking back, reading lots of Snopes prepared me for the era of misinformation that was to come.

Blue Prints (Blue's Clues unaired pilot - found except there are places where the dialogue hasn't been dubbed in yet), Webkinz Jr. (lost except for some gameplay footage on YouTube) and other flash games, æĄåĪŠé æĩ·ãŪįĨå ĩ (found and has upscale available), and recalled books (I made a PowerPoint with specific info, some I could only find pictures of 1 or 2 pages online)

In middle school I remember having an assignment to read Snopes articles

I was also really into Snopes around that time! I remember that there was a Disney rumors section and as soon as the page loaded, it played this music. I forgot the name of the song (it was a MIDI instrumental cover) but it was Disney related.

i used to be super into reddit mysteries ala u/YAYVIDEOGAMES. there's this very specific pipeline where you get from that to lost media. (also leads to webhorror but we arent talking bout that)
I've been interested since I was a kid. I remember learning about American Dog at an early age googling Bolt, and then getting interested in video game betas from youtube and various sites like Unseen64. I think I didn't really learn about the specific lost media wiki until the Day with Spongebob search gained traction but I wasnt surprised it existed thanks to my past interests in various lost games.

Youtube videos. Duh.
"True crime youtubers talking about a real life murder vs lost media youtubers talking about a cancelled episode of SpongeBob" (This is from a meme please don't take this seriously) I am a funny person

Pretty much kickstarted when I heard all about the Clockman search. I'm an animation enthusiast so of course I was excited about it, from the search to finally finding the animation. Lost media has a lot of lost art, which pretty much pulled me right in.
In 2021 I had an Invader Zim phase and I loved how dark it was for being on Nickelodeon so I became obsessed with like "darkest episodes of kids' shows" videos, and a guy who had a lot of videos like that was blameitonjorge so I'd binge a lot of his videos often. Eventually I came across his "top 40 banned and lost episodes of kids shows" or whatever it was called, and while I didn't know what 'lost' meant, I liked the 'banned' part because that meant those episodes were probably banned for being too dark. Badabing badaboom I learned what 'lost media' was and looked more into it and found all kinds of interesting topics like the 3D pilot for Invader Zim so I stuck around the community in hopes they'd find it and now I've kinda just been here for awhile hanging out
