Sometimes I like to go to the wayback machine and look at old archives of certain websites, mostly newgrounds. Occasionally, I check out flashes on the archived versions of the site. While looking at an archive of Newgrounds from 2005, I saw a flash known as "The Filth" and it intrigued my curiosity. I clicked a later version of the flash and it showed that it was blamed after about 5 years of being on the site.
After this I decided to look up anything regarding this lost cartoon and I found this thread from 2012 discussing it on the forum
at one point, I thought about making an article on just this flash specifically, but I realized there are probably many like it that were on the website for a few years and blamed never to be seen again. of course, I’m talking about works that seem to have genuine effort put into them and just got low ratings, not spam works that were blamed for obvious reasons. that was when I thought of making an article about missing newgrounds flashes in general.
would that be okay? just an article dedicated to finding missing works on newgrounds, would it be worth it?
I’m not sure since I’ve only recently made an account on here and have also had an interest in lost media for a little while now.

You can just post on the forums for help with finding stuff.

yeah but I was just asking if i could make this article on the website without the mods deleteing it
In September, I posted a thread in which I talk about the possibility of an article on lost Newgrounds flashes. I talked about how I found a flash called "the filth" that intrigued my curiosity while browsing WayBack Machine archives of Newgrounds. I mentioned the only evidence I could post, a thread on the newgrounds BBS on the flash that dates back to 2012. On this BBS thread one of the posters put archived links of the two episodes that were originally uploaded into newgrounds. these flashes were unplayable on my computer. however, I did have the flashes thumbnail from the archive, but I could not post it for whatever reason.
I ended up never making the article; I later decided to just forget about it. that was until I remembered it today and realized that I didn't dig as deep as I could have to find information on "The Filth" and its creator. I decided to look up the name of the username of the person that uploaded it to newgrounds and I found nothing significant. I even looked at this guy’s profile and there was nothing of note; the guy seemed to have just erased himself from Newgrounds entirely. I looked back at the archive of the flash itself and noticed that he advertised a website called www.TheFilthCartoons.com. I copy pasted the URL to google and found nothing worth noting. however, I decided to just simply type "TheFilthCartoons.com" and found a couple of empty threads, presumably by the creator, advertising the website.
then, while writing this post, I decided to put the URL to TheFilthCartoons.com onto the wayback machine and surprisingly the website worked. however, there was no way I could retrieve the flash cartoons themselves as they are unplayable. one thing of note about the website is that it mentions that there was an episode of this flash series featured on the Howard Stern Show. I'm not sure if this was true though
if you know anything else about the creator of this flash series and the series itself, please let me know. I may have found the website, but I still want to find the flashes, including the one featured on the Howard Stern Show. if anyone can post watchable links or video files, please let me know
For future reference, if you've already made a thread on a certain piece of media, you should continue to post finds in that respective thread. If needed, a staff member can then move it to the found media section, but this is seemingly still not found, so I've merged it with the original thread.

Thanks for this
from now on i will post new findings on this thread
to reiterate, if you know anyhthing about who made "the filth" and its other flashes or if you know how to get readable video files for them Please let me know
if anyone finds something or i find something i will post it
It looks like the creator is someone who goes by the name "mikepc". Here is an apparent link to "The Filth", with context intact, and here is the user page.
If it was "blammed by our users," does it mean that it was taken down after a long time or it people thought it wasn't good enough to stay on the site?
"Weekend? It's Monday already."

damn we must really be stuck in trying to find this
a lot of the stuff you mentioned was stuff I already knew. I just wanted a bit more information about the creator besides just the username "mikepc" or "thefilthcartoons". sorry I didn’t mention this earlier but I already knew those names
and about the blaming thing, yea, that is true for most flashes. but this one intrigued my interest simply because of the mystery behind its disappearance and how this one guy seemingly advertised this project all around the internet only for it not to gain a sufficient audience. if it was something that seemed like it would have been low quality that was blamed for obvious reasons, then I would have no interest in finding it.
i don't know if it requires any specific programs or anything to play them. all i know is i tried multiple times to play it and it didn't work
Which browser are you using? Have you installed the flash plugin for said browser? Which OS are you on? I'm using the latest Firefox on Ubuntu Linux, with the Flash plugin installed, and the flashes played just fine for me.
