Just Our Luck(1983)controversial ABC fantasy sitcom

Just Our Luck was a short-lived and controversial sitcom that aired in the 1983 fall season on ABC about some guy named Keith working for a TV station who ends up with a bottle with a 3,000 year old genie(played by African-American actor T.K. Carter)named Shabu who says he's obligated to serve Keith for basically the rest of his life and a bunch of shenanigans happen because of his genie powers. This show was controversial right from the start as the NAACP accused it of being offensive due to the premise(Carter however did not agree with that assertion and also rejected claims that the show had any resemblance to I Dream Of Jeannie)and called for it to be cancelled and critics weren't very kind to the show either. Eventually the NAACP got partial creative control resulting in future episodes no longer having any "master" and "servant" references, Shabu's "jive talk" was toned down and there was a new character played by Leonard Simon added to the show. Despite the changes however the show's ratings were still not doing well as it kept getting beaten by the very show it was designed to compete against-The A-Team (why the creators somehow thought putting a fantasy sitcom up against an action show was a good idea is beyond me)which mostly hogged it's main demographic, the only audience that really got into the show was kids cause of the premise, eventually it was cancelled with two of it's 13 episodes left unaired, though all of the episodes would be shown overseas in other countries like The UK, Australia, Malaysia and Sweden which is where the "found" part of this topic comes in as a few months ago some guy posted the first six episodes of this long lost show on Youtube which were taken from Swedish rental VHS tapes. Had no idea that shows this obscure somehow got official VHS releases overseas(makes me wonder how many other lost shows out there got official VHS releases overseas)thankfully these episodes are all in English albeit with Swedish hardsubs but I can live with that. Here's hoping the remaining episodes will turn up soon.
