With so many franchises(comics, or shows, or stillborn franchises) seemingly being brought back all of the sudden, it makes me curious on the franchises that they might NOT be reviving.
For me, I'd say one of them would be Moondreamers because Sailor Moon's MASSIVE popularity made it overshadow this forgotten toyline & animated series by a wide margin & I assume Hasbro fears that a lot of people seeing the toyline on shelves today would scream "SAILOR MOON RIPOFF!" without knowing that it's an older property from the '80s & honestly if that DID happen, it would not surprise me in the slightest. Them getting a new animated series today is ESPECIALLY out of the question because the 90s Sailor Moon anime is by far the most recognizable(why do I keep thinking there's an "e" before the "a" is beyond me) part of the Sailor Moon franchise. I mean, for Pete's sake, a few of the main characters LOOK like younger versions of the Toon Makers Sailor Scouts.
Also Eternal Champions. Apparently Sega of Japan felt that that franchise would be a threat towards Virtua Fighter & thus Sega of America's Eternal Champions was left to rot. This isn't me making up some conspiracy theory, the creator himself, Michael Latham, said

B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations. It’s technically an unreleased film, but it would also be a good example of a Stillborn Franchise, given the merchandise clearly seems to imply that Dreamworks was hoping for this to also be one of their IPs just like Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar, The Bad Guys, among others.
That means that had the film came out and became a box-office hit (which was pretty unlikely), there likely would have been sequels. Quite a few of them.
Even if the film had become a box office failure, it still would have gotten a planned Netflix tv show spinoff, but the entire franchise is dead because the first installment was cancelled and has been sitting unfinished for nearly a decade.
Now as for why it can never happen, that’s because the film was used as a Tax Write-off. They might still own the characters and whatnot, but if this franchise were to comeback, they’d have no choice but to rebuild the movie from the ground up, and pray the original character models and assets can still fit in with the more recent animation systems, given the animation for B.O.O has since become outdated, but that’s not possible given that PDI has since shut down, and this was the last film they made, with it being likely this film was cancelled the exact same day PDI shut down, likely just earlier in the same day.
Not to mention they would have to try their hardest to get back al the VA’s, who may turn down the role reprisal, may have died (they all seem to still be alive), among others. It’s not happening.

I've always begged in my mind for a revival of the Disney Fairies franchise. I just discovered Prana Studios was the backbone behind the movies. Unfortunately, they went defunct 5 years ago and were part of the Fox acquisition.
I really hope the demand thanks to nostalgia will be the persistence that moves the "mountains." It reminds me of the case with PASWG when it never have gotten a second season until now due to the creators leaving Gainax which the company had the IP for a while now.

At this point, it's safe to say that there won't be a Slamscape 2. Perhaps because the 1st game was already a bit too much into the weird side & it probably wasn't well received even back then.
Dreams are boundless, imaginations are infinite, space is a multi-directional spiral & Akazukin ChaCha is my favorite anime
Mother 4 is probably never going to happen at this point, for better or worse. Heck, the fan spiritual successor Oddity, I don't have much faith in either. It's been what, 4 years, since we got an honest update?

Similarly, I don't see another King's Quest being made. Or really more official sequels to Sierra RPGs that's not Leisure Suit Larry & considering how controversial they are for their insane amount of unwinnable scenarios...
Ever After High and its Monster High crossover movie.
The franchise pissed off Disney because it was about fairy tales and princesses. It lead to Disney breaking ties with Mattel. Mattel took a huge financial hit. Disney did eventually go back to Mattel, but I doubt Mattel will try to piss them off again. It is a bit sad for collectors and people who wanted the movie.
