I'm A Little Concerned About The Future Of Lost Media Hunts

We should start giving simple guidelines for the less experienced so that they can determine which lost media is real vs which is fake. It's so easy nowadays for a person to deliberately fake a lost media story by using VHS filters and Y2K aesthetics and people will get tricked. I saw it happen with Digital Girl and since I don't have experience I was convinced too, but it's also happened with other Lost Wave songs, and I'm worried other cases will arrive that have more signs of being fake, but they will trick the less experienced. Sorry if it sounds like I'm blaming those who get fooled, it's the opposite. I'm actually blaming the ones who deliberately try to trick those with less experience. I'm more nervous for the younger generation because Gen Alpha is being tricked too, and if I'm correct, they haven't lived during the Y2K aesthetic era so what if they get fooled by a fake Y2K lost media?
