Cr1tikal is one of the worst channels on YouTube: He's annoying, toxic ass fan base, repetitive, hypocritical, and fell off a long time ago.
I agree, honestly. Too much negativity going on in his channel at this point.
I miss when he did silly little gameplays where it was just footage of the game he's playing and his voice. Does not help how absolutely negative the more general atmosphere of the Internet feels.
Nowadays negativity = views unfortunately. Just look at how much anti-woke channels get popular just by making lazy videos with twisting people's words, using click bait and buzz words, and encouraging harassment (but then when they get called out, they say it "wasn't harassment" and it was "just constructive criticism/joke/an opinion")
Whatever happened to the internet just being a place for funny cat videos, random humor, and lets plays? Now it's just hating minorities and being a jerk to everybody
Hot take and one that's mildly political, but here goes...
It's okay to appeal to the dreaded "Male Gaze"
They're outright saying it's okay to appeal to the "Female Gaze" nowadays, so why not also appeal to the "Male Gaze"? I say it should be okay to appeal to both the male gaze and the female gaze!
Sexy is not sexist and there's nothing wrong with fictional characters being attractive regardless of their gender.
Tbh, most women aren't offended by it. Some of us (myself included) actually like it, and the majority of straight women are indifferent and if they don't like it in a work of media, they just don't buy it.
There's a difference between a s**y woman character and a woman character who's sole purpose is to be a s** object. The first part is fine in an adult's show, but the second part is what people are actually complaining about. For example, look how Asian women used to be portrayed as in American movies, and how women singers and dancers are forced or pressured into selling their bodies in order to be famous. Even I have to actually search for an anime that doesn't have s** in it, it's way too common nowadays.
Children's sitcoms are actually really funny and entertaining, and they're even better than a lot of adult shows. Kid sitcoms either have a unique concet, whether it's fantasy/sci-fi concept (Best Friends Whenever, The Wizards Of Waverly Place, Lab Rats, Mighty Med, Pair of Kings) or realistic (Liv and Maddie, Jessie, Shake It Up)
Agreed so much with this, i'd much rather watch the likes of iCarly, Victorious, Really Loud House, Bunk'd etc over massively overrated prestige dramas like Game of Thrones and The Crown.

You don't have to censor the word sex here. It's not against the rules to say it or anything.
To be fair i've seen Asian women portrayed that way in non-American movies too, also plenty of female singers choose to own their sexuality and show off their bodies on purpose, nobody forced them into it(I.E. the Pussycat Dolls).

Agreed, I actually got into an argument on Reddit with someone over the lesbian movie "Below Her Mouth" which I quite enjoyed and I had some posters essentially imply that LGBTQ folks shouldn't watch that film cause of "male gaze" blah blah blah and that really annoyed me and I want off on them saying they have no right to speak for ALL LGBTQ folks and tell them what kinds of films they should and should not like and that some LGBTQ folks happen to like male gaze stuff and that's OK, that pretentious wackjob whined and complained about my response but i'm glad to have been proven right on this thread.

I guess over the years, the worse parts of past internet has been forgotten. I feel like people have always been super negative. You can probably find ancient memes that are in bad taste or just cruel. Even in the LP community, there was a lot of bullying and targeting people who were "cringe".
With Cr1tikal, someone who my sister would watch and I used to watch with her, he often talks about random topics or current events. His videos don't go into depth researching these topics and he usually just says what is off the top of his head. This can sometimes be annoying because he will make claims and comments on things he doesn't really fully understand. Like the whole idubbbz situation, his quick take on it wasn't great.
Someone else brought up pride month, I got nothing against that at all, but I DO have a problem with corporations like Bud Light and Target paying lip service to LGBTQ folks during pride month only to back down when right-wing nutjobs whine like manchildren about non-straight people merely existing and they respond by trying to pander to those same shitheads and basically giving non-straight people a giant middle finger in the process, and then the rest of the year they don't give a shit about LGBTQ people.

I just censor it because of my personal preference. Also I heard it happened to Selena Gomez after she left Disney. I heard she was pressured to do it and regretted it afterwards
Calling people a genius and over analyzing their work is a good way to make them feel stupid. Honestly, the hell is a genius at this point anyway? You're better off with people disliking you. People are annoying. It's a bit hard to explain without sounding ignorant, but if you know, you know.
I don't like pride month. Things get a bit weird around this time. Don't like it. That and it's just so forced by the media that I just can't help but dislike it. I'm not one to celebrate my sexuality.
Those who dare abandon someone at the drop of a hat just for being offensive should be beaten. Maybe not literally, but at least punished in some way.
I deserve five dollars. I am poor.
As a gay man, I am SOOOOO mixed on pride month. It's quite complicated & it involves some rather... misfortunate things. I don't even think it's THAT enforced by the media though, unless you live in California. Does The Netherlands even celebrate Pride Month or do they just know that they all see LGBT+ people as people all year round & therefore such a month is unnecessary to them? I mean, heck, I assume most people in The Netherlands probably don't even care about if pride month happens overseas or really even cares about most of the world in general. I mean, they're not like North Korea per se(FAR FROM IT), but they feel like the kinda country where they KNOW that most of the world won't give them attention & thus they said "Why bother?" & stopped trying to export their media outside of there & maybe Belgium & Luxembourg(Those 3 countries make up the Benelux region(well, subregion) of Western Europe if you're wondering).
Dreams are boundless, imaginations are infinite, space is a multi-directional spiral & Akazukin ChaCha is my favorite anime
WAIT JOE ROGEN HOSTED FEAR FACTOR!!! I NEVER KNEW THAT!!!
I'm amazed that there are people that don't know that Rogan hosted that show, but I guess that makes sense given that it last aired quite some time ago.
I've never been into Fear Factor or The Rogen Podcast so I never would've made the comparison.

Did she actually say that herself or was it just rumors and hearsay? Cause i'm not going to believe anything about celebs without solid evidence. I'm not so sure I buy it as Selena's music in recent years seems pretty sexual(especially "Hands to Myself")so it wouldn't make any logical sense for her to regret that if she's still doing that kind of stuff in her music.

Thank you!
Finally, I found someone else who agrees. Not gonna lie, sometimes it's hard being a sex-positive cis woman.
I think a lot of the problem with a lot of the LGBTQ community (quite frankly, it's mostly the L's. They tend to be the meanest towards bi women like me) is that they tend to hyper-politicize themselves and can't just let entertainment be entertainment.
I get why that is a thing, don't get me wrong. A lot of that hyper-politicization began as a response towards actual problems such as homophobia and misogyny.
But a lot of them tend to really heavily anchor themselves to really hardline radical feminism and that's how you get stuff like the TERF's, secular Puritans like Andrea Dworkin, psychos like Valerie Solanas, or "political lesbians" (aka misandrist straight women who go full femcel because "all men bad" or some shit)
Calling people a genius and over analyzing their work is a good way to make them feel stupid. Honestly, the hell is a genius at this point anyway? You're better off with people disliking you. People are annoying. It's a bit hard to explain without sounding ignorant, but if you know, you know.

I honestly don't really care for all this pride stuff as a whole. I don't care if you're straight or not, but people gotta learn that you don't have to show it off so much. At least it's not as bad as it was for me last year when I couldn't go outside without seeing a rainbow somewhere. It's a bit more chill where I live.

I'm not trying to be rude by the way.
To be fair, I am for the most part VERY quiet. Like, I will usually NEVER talk for a long while & just be completely alone all by myself. I don't even have any friends that are nearby where I live, I just have you guys & a couple of others spread across a few sites. I know one of them in real life, but otherwise it's just me & the internet, alone in a small room. I usually discuss video games & cartoons, that's mostly about it.
I've more or less become an introvert for years to come. I thought getting a boyfriend would be possible for me, but I feel like that at this point it just isn't happening & that I'll be living alone once I get a home for myself. It'll just be me, truly away from anyone else. It may even mean that I'll talk so little that I slowly start to forget more words. I yearn for the days I wasn't apart of where houses were affordable, that way I could become an isolated being in a couple of months, rarely seeing family members & will probably never see most of the real life friends I once had ever again. At this point, the reality of things is that I was never gonna truly have an audience. I have a YouTube channel, but almost no one watches my videos & honestly I'm just surprised that my channel's overall view count is more than 4,000. Maybe I do have one, but personally it's best that I just see myself as a very tiny cult icon of counterculture & have my real life self be an almost complete unknown to the rest of the world. Be the average Joe no one ever knows about, no one ever sees & no one ever hears of. Basically a person that very few people will ever believe existed at any point. Then again, birth certificates exist, so it won't go THAT far, but still.
I know that it sounds a bit wild, but honestly that's how I feel. If I'm not ever getting no boyfriend, then I'd much rather just be alone. Get that house some soundproof stuff so that I can't be heard by a lot of people & don't bother getting a microphone whenever I record videos where I do talk because I don't like talking loudly & again, so I don't get heard.

Reminds me of the whole Illymation thing where she got waves of harassment just because of Think Before You Sleep twisting her words in a way that made it sound worse than it actually is. It's actually sad how many people went with TBYS's side instead of actually watching the video Illy made themselves, especially to the point her life was in danger just because of people hating her guts for something she actually didn't say and other unrelated things.
It's clearly not Think Before You Sleep's fault that she got doxxed, it's just that he is the one who is supposed to think first before spreading misinformation and note that he can be held responsible for whatever happens. I don't expect much from "anti-woke" channels, though.
I remember seeing this animation that was uploaded on this year's Women's Day. I thought it was just going to be some sort of cute lesbian animation, only for it to be incredibly disgusting TERF garbage wrapped in a colorful 2000s bow. The comment section for that video was even worse. If anything, it made me, a cis woman, feel even more unsafe and gross in my own body. I'll never understand how they find that stuff empowering. I just generally never understand being this hateful.
