For the past 6-8 months, I've been researching and identifying the team members of MP Game Studio, the developers behind the Super Brawl flash games. This effort is part of my work on a fangame inspired by the original flash games, where we're reusing some of the assets. We want to ensure that we properly credit the original creators for their contributions.
Although I have identified most of the original artists, programmers, and other contributors, finding the name of the musician has proven to be particularly challenging. There is no information or credits for the musician in any of MP Game Studio's other games.
Here's some gameplay from Super Brawl 2, one of the games created by MP Game Studio.
While I haven't been able to identify the musician, I've uncovered some additional information during my research:
The musician used Propellerhead Reason (likely version 4 or 5), as evidenced by the synths and samples in the soundtrack for Super Brawl being the exact same.
According to an email from MP Game Studio co-founder Fernando Piccolo, "we had an in-house person for a while, then we started hiring independent musicians, and in some cases, we used music from libraries provided by the client."
While not a strong lead, the musician might be another team member previously identified. This could be Csr Jara, who has created original music before joining MP Game Studio and did all the 2D character animations for each Super Brawl game.
