Some of you may know about the game show The $64,000 Question. It is an old 20th century game show that predated the existence of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. It is a game show where you can receive up to $64,000 dollars just for answering the questions correctly.
An attempt to revive the show in 2000 was produced, with Greg Gumbel hosting the show and it was produced by Dick Clark Productions (formerly defunct).
Many people, however, don't know that the first ever known UK adaptation of TSFDQ existed. It aired during the 1950s on ATV (Associated Television). It lasted for 2 years and then it was cancelled.
A revival of the British adaptation was made in 1990, sharing the same name. This time, it aired on ATV's successor, Central Independent Television. Many of its episodes can be found online on YouTube. It lasted 3 years, which is slightly longer than the early ATV version.
Unlike the latter Central version of the UK adaptation, which has several episodes on YouTube, none of the ATV version has been resurfaced so far. There are mentions of it on the Internet, but no footage or images.
It is presumed that the tapes of the early ATV adaptation of this game show were destroyed or wiped for reusing.
