What does “Bump” mean

Well now I have to ask, why exactly is necroposting so frowned upon?

Yeah, this game had an Atari 2600 port.

It could be “ow! I bumped arm at a wall!”

Or… “sir, you have a bump on your head.”

Or in forum terms… “I’m gonna bump this to the first page!”

Or a character by the name of Mr bump from Mr men little miss

from what I've seen necroposting is only really frowned upon if you bring up a dead thread for no reason. if you have something actually beneficial to add to the thread (eg: lost media thread from 2020 of something that was just found) and actually have a civil, productive discussion the mods probably aren't gonna lock it

this doesn't mean you should intentionally look for old threads to revive

Yes but I still don’t entirely see the point of locking whole threads,also if anything I feel obligated to check most new posts and if anything run on threads like the “I didn’t care for the godfather” thread (if it goes past 42 pages I’m asking for it to be locked because of my previous reasoning and my already discussed (in other threads) hatred for my creation.) annoy me even more because more pages,more loading time (well it feels like it for mobile lol)
