I feel the news casts she did are important to archive as that was apart of her life and legacy, the death tape on the other hand shouldn't even be up for discussion. No one needs to see Christine's death.

Are we actively ignoring the fact the thread is now focused on archiving her Suncoast Digest work and people have been explicitly told for years to stop talking about or looking for what happened that horrible day or no?

I've been one of the many people on that thread for years saying people who have been harassing her loved ones about her death are why some of the community has the bad reputation it does, because it makes all of us look like a pack of amoral degenerates and not people who take historical preservation seriously. It's always crucial to handle certain topics respectfully and some people never got that message.

That's why seeing the tides shift was such a breath of fresh air because it went from a shameful circus fire of a shit show to something positive where we could talk about what she was passionate about and wanting to ensure this is the legacy I'm sure her loved ones would have wanted. Being only remembered for something horrible that happened after your long gone is an awful note to leave behind in the books. But with the work tapesignal and others have tirelessly (and quite frankly almost thanklessly) have done to archive and document her program, showing her dedication to her community, things can be that much brighter. Her name doesn't have to be associated with her death anymore. We have the power to keep doing that by doing good things and keeping that momentum going.

If the admins and mods want to delegate to locking the thread, fine. However, I don't take kindly to newcomers acting like they're morally superior to those of us who have been here longer and have actually participated in these discussions for as long as some of us have. It's insulting to our intelligence and just gives the aforementioned people who only ever have a fish tank look into our community a negative reputation. I don't take kindly to people who assume we are all the same and have participated in the same actions as those individuals. By saying such things, you're making similar accusations towards tapesignal and others who have led to actual positive change in the story.

If the thread does get locked and we switch over to just discussing Suncoast Digest and the efforts of archiving the program and other stuff she did, I'm all for that. We just cannot let these painstaking efforts get squandered because of bad actors and people trying to fan those flames again.

Maybe a higher-up can lock that thread and someone should make a new one solely only discussing Suncoast Digest. But of course the new thread would be moderated and there will be rules in the first post reminding users not to mention you know what.
