Thinking about incorporating my favourite pieces into...something

I definitely have more System animals (mostly Friends) but since they're so tiny I have difficulty manipulating them and they get lost easily.
If only I were able to set up PayPal I'd actually be able to buy from Bricklink and not have to rely on eBay giftcard. A particular piece I want (2-sided cloth bug from Primo "My Rattle Friends") is currently available on eBay, although much more expensive compared to Bricklink - especially since the shipping from UK to US means I'd pay about double. Is it worth saving up 40 USD for?
Even though there are still some pieces from sets from around a decade ago I'm still looking for, it's probably a better idea to try obtaining the ones that are even older first.
