There was this game, potentially a series of games, I had on a (now gone) tablet when I was... maybe 4-6? Around 2012-2014. It was centered around this family of four that were static but you could control. You could drag them around the screen and have them interact with objects (...still without them moving, of course. They stared straight ahead. Very simple game). For example, if you dragged food to someone's mouth, it would be bitten and gone. You could turn on the TV. It had a watercolour artstyle I believe. There were other characters, too. The game(s) had many different locations, some being a house, school, and streets (each having sub locations like rooms and classrooms). I remember on one of the streets there was a gumball machine, and that the school lobby had a blue colour scheme. The classroom that had paper let you use a pencil to "write" on it (all it did was make a sound). I think you could put the family to bed as well and change their outfits. I'm not sure about the appearances of the family members exactly, but I'm pretty sure the boy had blond curly hair and the girl might've had brown straight hair. I don't remember whether the bg music changed depending on location, but I vaguely recall the main song. It was very calming, and had a quiet guitar that looped. Here's my best recreation of it (just pretend it's a guitar and sounds softer :']): musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Song-Maker/song/5901007585411072

Update: I was messing with the sample songs on my old casio keyboard when I came across Ave Maria (specifically this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTdVDFooyOU) and realized that this was in the game. Either I terribly misremembered the song or there were different songs within the game. I still believe there was guitar somewhere, but take that with a grain of salt or two.
I think I played something similar, possibly the same game, but a year or 2 later than your timeframe, so I maybe played it around 2014-16? I think each location was a separate game, and i remember a house and beach one, there are definitely more I dont remember. I think the TV in the house one had a remote object to use it, and it played 3 (I think) shows, one was pingu, and I dont remember what the other 2 were. In the beach one there was a house with a bubble machine, and various other toys on a shelf next to bunk beds. And I think there were no menus, everything was drag and drop. This was on my moms kindle, which I think she got rid of because it wouldnt turn on, however I may still have it, hopefully it turns on if I do.

I'm glad someone else remembers this! We are definitely thinking of the same game. Now that you mention it, I do remember the toys, and one of them was a bubble wand. I also recall the bunk beds.

ok, so i got a new kindle, and i couldnt find it, i looked through all the apps in my library and there was sadly nothing, it may have been deleted off the Amazon app store, which is unfortunate, it may still be on something else.

To bring this back up, I've managed to squeeze even more details out of my head --There was a grocery store where you could have the characters "buy" things, possibly another shop where they could get clothing. --When exiting the house, you find yourself looking at it and the driveway. I believe the house was a pale grey-yellow and they had a red car in the driveway, to the left of the house. The driveway opened onto a road that extended into the distance on the right, where the town is visible. There may have been a tree next to the house. --There may have been white arrows to the sides of the screen that allowed you to change rooms and perhaps even locations --The girl might've had a headband --In case you're wondering, no, I don't remember any animals in the game, but a pet doesn't seem out of the question
Here's a super lazy drawing of the house, just to have something to help visualize (i may make an actual drawing in the future)
Once again, take this with several grains of salt. I may have played this game for hours and hours as a kid, but I was very young
