Hello! Welcome to The Lost Media Wiki! I don' think there is a specific set of rules that we have here I could find, but you could contact a moderator such as co if you would like specifics. Otherwise you should just be nice to others, not comment on threads if you have no new info to add, and make sure to put the right content in the right threads. Here's a quick briefing on what thread is which:
Lost media: Media that you know the details of and was taken down. Found Media: Media that has been recently recovered. Lesser known media: Lost media that is popular. Unidentified media: Meia that you vaguely remember, or things such as a song or video clip in a video or movie that is unsourced.
1) Don't make a repeat thread. If you're interested in a particular search, look it up first to see if there is already a post on there and update it. We had a lot of Go for a Punch threads sprout up which makes things confusing. You can also just update your own thread instead of making another one as an update.
2) Avoid necroposting. Reviving old posts from well over 8 years ago just to be like "wow this post is old" or "this was a long time ago" is obnoxious.
3) Don't derail threads. As in: getting in an argument with another user that dominates the thread, getting in an irrelevant conversation in the middle of the thread, and random spam/trolling. Keep your posts relevant to the topic at hand.
4) Be nice. Don't be a bully. Don't jump in a thread to be like "your search is dumb." It's rude.
5) I only insta-ban people if they are a bot, threatened someone or told them to harm themselves, or if they have an incredibly bad reaction to the first warning I issued. Usually I do a "3 strikes you're out" kind of deal otherwise.
6) Try to post in the correct area. If you're unsure of the media you're looking for, it goes in unidentified. If it's known to be lost, then post in lost but refer to the first rule. Found media is when something is recently found, posting things that are already found seems redundant. Lesser known is more for smaller scale searches. LMW discussion is about the website itself, help is where you can ask questions (but you already know that), volunteer is for assisting the wiki with various tasks, and off-topic is exactly that, nothing necessarily related to the wiki.
7) Don't demand other users help with your search. If people are interested, they'll come. You can always request help, but do that in a DM or a thread relevant to that.
8) I tend to lock threads that are too personal. I do this so the user doesn't get bullied, or accidentally give away info that can lead to something bad. Once I did it because the thread was really inappropriate and we don't have an age limit on this site.
That's all I can think of, and I can't speak for the other mods. But generally that's what I'm looking for!
Also please don’t make threads about the other lost media wiki, as we don’t want a war with eachother, and dubs are a no-go here, so go somewhere else to discuss the lost Italian dub of wubbzy. Also things that are obviously fake will result in the thread getting locked, or the person getting warned or banned, unless it’s something we thought was real (like a day with SpongeBob) or stuff we don’t know were true or false, (like SpongeBob foghorn in credits) anyways that’s some of the stuff, I might update this later

who said anything about dubs? We talk about dubs all the time so your information is wrong. Yes if a dub is fake it won't and should not be talked about but if it was a real dub we talk about it. Even if it was a fake dub and was on YouTube and is lost then people can talk about that dub because it was lost.
