In my stories, characters can fuse and I have a issue handling the different ways its used, so I was curious if any of you had ideas?
Fusions aren't DBZ styled, they can happen in multiple ways. Full on fusion is the two souls being meshed together temporarily to create a new entity, this is often done when characters are transformed, and partial fusion. Partial fusion is when one soul "overlaps" with another, the person being "worn" shares their powers with the person who's in control.
Any ideas on how to make this more interesting or cool ideas for it?

Only fusion types I know of are the aforementioned DBZ types and the Steven Universe type

I've seen a lot of strange ways of fusion. Some are in name only. Like eating another character to get their powers is sometimes called "fusion" despite it just being cannibalizing the other person.

Have you tried the fusion method used in Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patoranger? In this season, both the Lupinrangers and Patorangers used their morpher (which doubles as their firearm) to fuse the 3 rangers on each team into one ranger. Their voices are split unlike DBZ fusions and all 3 rangers in each fusion can take control.

I forgot to say this lol These two are a really good representation of how the two types of Fusions function.
PartenUgou is similar to Overlap Fusion. 1gou is the base with 2gou and 3gou being used more as aspects of the Fusion. I'll use two of my characters that do this as a example. Miu and Romeo are two characters that are just souls, possessing a doll and plush respectively.
Later on Miu and Romeo get a pendant that can Fuse them, allowing Miu to take on certain aspects of Romeo, changing her dress to his color scheme. When transformed Romeo takes over and gets some of her abilities. These are called Miu R and Romeo M.
Later on the pendant is reforged into a Rosary when Miu gets her body back, allowing a proper Overlap Fusion. Miu's dress takes on Romeo's color scheme like usual but gets a wolf motif, because Romeo despite being very human like in personality, is a wolf's soul. This more proper fusion is called Miu RR or "Miu Romeo Rosario", and when transformed, Romeo RM or "Romeo Resonated Miu"
Lupin TriColor is a Melded Fusion, which is a traditional Fusion. Where PatrenUGou is 1Gou "wearing" the other two, TriColor very clearly has them fully melded together as a single Senshi. These Fusions can be a lot harder to handle. Your names also combine. So in Miu and Romeo's case they'd be called RoMiu.

Do you think that these fusions would work for your story?

Ye, they would. Sorry for lore dumping lol

Ay I rant about Cartoons and animation companies all the time so I know how if feels lmao.
Thanks lol
Would love to make a post specifically about this fan fiction stuff but am shy lol
Ay trust me and try it to see how it works out before you decide if you want to continue or not. It worked for me when I first started with Lost Media, so it could work with you and fan fiction. Besides, when you posted asking for help on your fic, people (included me) gave you advice without being negative and as far as I know it was received great.

Thanks. I've been hush hush about this for a few years now, only recently getting more open about it
