It's been a while but the sudden recommendations of lost media videos have encouraged me to find an answer to this question for my peace of mind.
The mysterious Pokemon encounter in Pokemon Yellow;
So back in December of 2016, I was gifted a 3DS, I happily played around with it and downloaded many games, this might be important to explain its origin but I never got a game cartridge, it all came from the Nintendo ESHOP.
I vividly remember barely capturing any Pokemon, I mostly focused on leveling Pikachu because I liked the idea of my Pikachu one shooting everything, Pikachu should've been around level 50-60 right now.
I continued the game as normal, now I don't remember where exactly but somewhere between leaving a town and getting closer to the next town I found myself in a forest, I kept getting the same Pokemons and my Pikachu kept defeating them in one attack, I didn't find any of this interesting besides "Oh, free exp" but here comes the part that stuck with me the most.
It was like a hallway but in a forest, ahead there were many trees and a black circle between them like the entrances to the caves had

there was also grass when walking forward I suddenly got an encounter and figured it must be another quick fight with a weaker Pokemon I already saw before, but to my surprise, I was met by a Pokemon I never saw before, it was in all fours and had a green color scheme, it looked like a tortoise but with a huge tree on it's back, I think it also had some sort of jar covering the tree but I'm not sure about that.
Everything about this encounter felt odd, it almost felt like a scripted boss fight with the way it specifically happened when I was in the center of the room, so close to going to the next town yet so far, while also meeting a huge Pokemon for the first time, I remember what I felt and thought, at first I was confused but also felt intimidated by it, I felt like it could one-shot me if I tried to fight, but I also felt the desire to capture it.
However I was quickly disappointed, my Pikachu was strong, WAY too strong, in no time I found myself in an awkward situation, the unknown Pokemon bar was in yellow, and it was too low that I knew my next move would defeat it, but it wasn't low enough, I vividly remember throwing all my poke balls at it but the pokemon kept escaping, I tried changing my pokemon to a weaker one but the unknown pokemon managed to defeat them in one move.
So I had to make the hard decision of attacking it with my Pikachu, my heart dropped when I saw my Pikachu defeat it but I couldn't do more than just continue.
That's it for the encounter, weeks after, I played for a while but I got stuck at the part where you had to wake up Snorlax to enter Lavander town (So it was before going to Lavander town, I know that much).
It wasn't a dream since my progress was saved, but at the same time I couldn't even find assets or a background that assembled one of the forests I walked through, I still have the 3DS but it won't turn on, and none of the pokemon yellow gameplay has this part and I even replayed it from a website but never encountered such a thing, I always wondered if resetting my game and playing all over again would make me go through the same scenario but I don't think It's gonna happen any time soon.
I'm not sure if this belongs here, but I also couldn't think of any other site where such a memory could belong, is there some sort of logical explanation? I'm not a huge Pokemon fan and don't have any other vivid memory regarding my 3DS, but I'm still confused about this.
I was going to include an attachment, a drawing of the pokemon for the much I remembered, however I couldn't figure out how to add it... anyways, sorry for the long post, I didn't want to miss anything, but it probably isn't anything big anyways.
