When someone manages to get ahold of images surrounding a piece of lost media, and decides to put them on the LMW, is it a rule that they need to have got permission from the original owners first?

Thats a weirdo rule. but ok. Im not sure about that also, because in a reply it was an issue, but also in creating a thread it was an issue. You find a site with similar interest and its retarded about adding contributing info. Its absolutely nothing like reddit or Quora, and it should be. The image can always be filtered, later as in content reviewer, also what program programming is even sitting an upload image limit under a title like Lost Media, when you know that one must assist you via uploads. Its not fair, it's dumb as ****.

I was talking about where you said that you have to get permission to post it up.
I don't think you would need permission unless the image had content or people that they don't want plastered online (family members, maybe pets, or their house).
I am NOT a copyright lawyer, but the way images are used on the LMW is pretty much textbook fair use.
The way we upload things to YouTube or archive.org is 100% illegal sometimes but nobody cares. I think most people can agree that the way copyright law applies in such situations is blatantly stupid.
_alexpine_ on discord. 2018 was HOW many years ago?!?! If RPGMakerFan12 is so good, why isn't there an RPGMakerFan13? lostmediawiki.com/User:BrightyLighty
Hi Im Red! Nice to meet you! I Rarely search for lost media but when i do i dont do anything noticeable but i atleast do something, I am making a web series [CANCLED TILL LATE 2024-2025 FOR CONTINUATION]
It depends on the context. If the images were made public then I don't see why not, but if you got images from say, a lead from a search you're on, it would be a better bet to ask them for permission to post first before doing anything.
