I only watch subbed, but I also mostly watch shows that *only* have subs...
I was considering watching Black Butler dubbed though, since I'm pretty sure they've all got British accents in the dub. I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Oh yeah, I like listening to anime shows in their "native languages" if they're set in a different place too. Which is too bad in some cases, I think Victorian Romance Emma (set in surprise, surprise, ENGLAND) took like a decade to actually get an English dub???

Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei's anime didn't get an official English release until 15yrs after it had originally aired T_T and they had stopped translating the manga after volume 14 (there's 30 total)

now I kinda wonder how they decide what shows do & don't get dubbed, especially nowadays since anime is pretty mainstream popular.

Oh wow, had NO idea they just stopped outright publishing the manga. TBF, after the anime boom (temporarily) ended and the great recession happened and Tokyopop went under (along with a number of other smaller companies that published niche series) around 2008-2011ish, there probably ended up being a fair number of unfinished series like that. I remember going to bookstores in like 2004 and seeing all sorts of wildly different series published by wildly different publishers, but there was a lull later. I heard in a video that once Borders went down, that especially hit Tokyopop HARD and that was the clear winner in the manga war (save for Viz). If Tokyopop couldn't make it, how could a random label like CMX possibly make it???!!!!
