Weird/incorrect information you have found reading wikis

Claims that Lucky 7 Syracuse was the first ever pirate television channel. It was not, nor was it the first ever pirate television channel in America. The earliest pirate television channel is W6JDI TV from around 1949, but it never actually broadcast content, the earliest one I know of that broadcast content is TV Noordzee from 1963, and the earliest American pirate channel I know of that broadcast content is Lanesville TV, from 1972, a full 6 years before Lucky 7.

I am pretty sure the LMW page for Lucky 7 actually mentions this false information.

Things I remember seeing years ago and have since been "fixed"

- The United States had "America Sucks" vandalism that happened during the Bush era. I guess the site was pretty new and it didn't get fixed right away.

- A theatrical Sonic the Hedgehog film expected for 2008-ish. Not sure if this was real or cancelled or a production hell to what we actually got.

- Princess and the Frog 2, straight to video sequel. Disney scraped the straight to video sequels in 2007 and Princess and the Frog was released in 2009. I recently was trying to find the "source" of this rumor but Googling this topic seems to just get promos for the new show.

in 2018 or 2019 someone edited the Wikipedia page for Martha Speaks to say that some characters were based on characters from Danny Phantom.
Also, I regularly edit on the LeapFrog wiki, and there was a page claiming a Nature Cat Leapster game came out in 2007, with detailed descriptions of all the mini games and how they were reskinned versions of mini games from other Leapster games. However, I deleted that page.

Is Baby Herman really based on Elmer? I have seen it both on Disney Wiki and Roger Rabbit Wiki

Also not a wiki, but I have seen so many places, including videos and articles, say that the Z Grill Franklin stamp gets it's name because of the "zig zag" pattern, despite the pattern not being a zig zag. It actually gets it's name due to being unidentified for so long, and the previous grills were A, B, C, D, E and F, the discoverer wanted it to be distanced from previous patterns, hence Z. Now, this wouldn't be so annoying to me, people spreading misinformation, until I was made aware of an article made by The Smithsonian which says that is called Z Grill because of the "zig zag pattern".

How can anybody like The Smithsonian, with decades of experience, centuries of documents and literature, thousands of historians, get something so blatantly wrong?
