Help with dumb specific thing about my character

Maybe it would work like human teeth?
Like a "baby fang" regrows into an "adult fang".

imagine vampires start out with a full mouth of shark-like teeth, but as they grow older or if their prey struggles too much sometimes they lose their extra teeth,and so if you see a 10,000 yo vampire that still has most of their extra fangs then they're probably super strong whereas a 1000 yo vampire whos already lost quote a few teeth is probably not gonna survive to 10k
