Hello, Please let me know if this isn't allowed. I tried looking everywhere for rules on discussing this and I wish not to be disrespectful or breaking any rules.
I am in a college in Sarasota, Florida, and specifically in a class right now about Florida Literature in our local area. For one of our final projects, I pitched a presentation about Christine and on the issues with our media, specifically the news, on how in 50 years, nothing has changed, and in ways have gotten worse in the way we have access to media. With the Christine Chubbuck case occuring here in Sarasota, Florida, I want to show that sadly this 'blood and guts' news so to say has not changed, and how it can affect people.
I also wish to explain the person who Christine was, not just what her final moments were. I want to learn more of her volunteer work in the Sarasota Memorial Hosptial, I want to know what stories she liked to cover, I want people to know her as a woman who dedicated her life to helping others in all these different ways and her kindness. I'm planning on doing a painting as well as a memorial to her. My teacher thinks this is a great project, and so I wish to do research more on her, the stories she covered, and how the media now still sadly is the same in the sense of 'blood and guts news'. The issue is that there are just so many disrespectful videos online, people who don't cover this case with the maturity it needs. Its shocking honestly to see so many, and its so disgusting. I feel like its difficult finding a good documentary on her.
So, in my research, I'm here to ask a question, as is there any respectful documentaries on Christine? Is there anything that just explains who she was? I want to handle this case with the maturity it deserves, not as some sort of spectical.
Again, if this is not allowed, please let me know. Thank you for looking.
