I've been doing a bit of research on Chuck E. Cheese's first ad campaign, "The Great All-American Pizza Show!" and I'm pretty sure I've found where at least one of the ads has a chance of being screened this April. In a Pizza Time Theatre company newsletter from May 1980, under the "Staring The Stores" and Citrus Heights section, it mentions that the Citrus Heights and Concord stores were chosen to be the filming locations for the company's new ad. This ad was produced by Bob Wilkins' ad agency so I looked up Bob Wilkins and almost nothing anywhere mentions this supposed agency. They may briefly mention he had one but never say the name of it. Even his official fansite doesn't mention it.
So, I reached out to the owner of a site through email and asked about it. He said that the agency was called "Bob Wilkins' Advertising Inc." and had offices in Orinda and Sacramento. I was pretty satisfied and wasn't really expecting much more info, but then the next day he mentioned somethings that caught my attention.
This guy is one of the producers of the Psychotronix Film Festival, which screens vintage movies, short films, commercials, interviews, etc. and it's all shown on 16mm film. He mentioned Chuck E. Cheese and inheriting many films of Bob Wilkins. Maybe it's a stretch and I'm desperately clawing to even the smallest scrap of hope, but I feel that at least the Citrus Heights commercial still exists. He wouldn't just casually bring up this obscure ad campaign and considering old commercials and some of Bob Wilkins' stuff is going to be shown, I just have a feeling that this could be something. At least better safe than sorry.
The Psychotronix Film Festival is going to be at the Orinda Theatre, CA, on April 6th at 8:30PM. This a bit of a problem for me since I live in New England so going all the way across the country for this is a little out of the question. This is my first lost media search and I haven't seen many people talk about this or reach out to anyone so I'm a little bummed out to see this chance potentially slip right out of my hand
