I second this. I think it's a very silly gate keeping method that limits users, such as you and I, from taking part in discussions and general chats with others. Smartphones are a luxury that not everybody has, or can afford, or in my case, has chosen not to have due to a lack of need. Forcing users to require one achieves nothing other than inconvenience and annoyance, and to repeat, gate keeps people from discussions.

Having a smartphone doesn't make one more or less likely to troll a discord server, it annoys me that I cannot use the server, especially now with the nonsense from admins telling me that I cannot report abusive direct messages on this site, as well as the apparent block on attaching images here. It's all unnecessary anti-user stuff.

So, it is completely arbitrary, then? I joined, saw the phone verification requirement, and left immediately. I already deleted my discord accounts (due to stalkers, unrelated to LMW) and would only make a new one if I could join (which I cannot).

Exactly. It's not "gatekeeping" it's just a security measure.

It's a security measure we put in for a reason. However, if you rejoin, DM me and we can work something out.

I made a new email address, re-installed discord and made an account just for this, only for you to have messages disabled.
