Now that I think about it, I wonder at what stage in development the executives made the filmmakers turn the singing slugs into a running gag, since almost every scene they appear in (aside from their first, which I assume is the only scene they were meant to appear in) was a reshoot.

You should have sent what you had planned to send here first, as well as the email address, so that we could all give input. You have instead sent an email all on your own accord, the contents of which, we have not seen, nor have you shared the email address or editor's name, or even how you found it. Please post the contents of your email, and in future, do so before you just decide to rush in and send another to anybody, applies to other searches too. Without knowing what you said, or to whom, it could cause a good lead to die instantly.
while i agree with this, i think you could have been a lot kinder with your response, and maybe had at least some trust in op. i get that it's a scary thing not knowing what's going on in the search, but it's better to have a good lead die than to have a search fall apart due to internal conflict.

this community has had problems with how people contact creators in search for lost media before, I think it's reasonable to not immediately trust the contents of an email without reading it yourself.

Interesting. But this old version of the Wikipedia page doesn't site any sources... at all, and Wikipedia, by nature, is a site that anyone can edit. So, unless we can find a old news article about how Simon Callow was supposed to be in Flushed Away or something to that affect, we're gonna have to take this info with a grain of salt.

Given that they were advised to do as I said by another user before sending the email, yet did not follow the advice, I think being stern and clear is acceptable. People aren't trying to cause conflict when telling people the right thing to do, or getting annoyed by users ignoring that very advice. I am not a fan of anybody contacting people while retaining their names and contact info for themselves when it is a search involving several participants, and I especially don't like the idea of not sharing what has been said. The MAMF search proves the value of that.

Honestly, I could see the end result of this search, should we get that far, turn out with some early cut of the film getting leaked online, a la “Scream 3 Assembly Cut”.
I would also suggest we do a #ReleasetheGilbert&SullivanCut, but I doubt that will work after what happened with the Suicide Squad Ayer Cut.
