So I made a personal lost media hunt video two years ago trying to find a specific song that I really can't find anywhere, and figured I'd make a thread about it here. Now I'm bad when it comes to doing searches like these, and while I haven't used Shazam yet, I decided to make a thread about it here to see if anyone might know what song this is. Since I don't have the soundbyte for the song on hand anymore, I'll just post the video here. I believe I heard this song somewhere in the mid 2000s? Somewhere around that possibly timeframe, it's hard to remember. Definitely had to be around the area where the Ipod was already released.

In your video you said you barely remember the lyrics, so what of them can you recall?
When I used the term barely in the video, I guess I was using it as alternative to saying I don't really recall the lyrics. I'm a person that tends to remember a song moreso for its instrumentals for the most part, and honestly outside of knowing that that part of the song had the lead vocalist yelling into the mic when doing so, not really much else stuck to me. Sadly all that I can remember is the lick of the song if that makes any sense. Think I should go to Shazam, try singing the song, and see if it notices it?

And just for another clarification, in your video when you say you’ve heard the song many times before are you referring to hearing it whenever your sister played it or did you hear it other places too like on the radio? I’m just trying to gauge if it was a popular hit or not.

I'd say the former. I never heard the song anywhere else other than my sister playing it on the car speakers. Outside of that, I've never heard it since. From my point of view I would imagine it's probably a lesser known band she stumbled upon.
Noted. I know this likely isn’t it but I’ll just throw this out there because this song was the first thing to come to mind when I heard your recreation even though it’s post-hardcore and not metal. Box Car Racer - I Feel So.
Sadly it isn't it, but I'll try to let you know when I can to record my findings on Shazam. The neighbors are loudly playing music so when I try to record myself their tunes pick up over my singing lmao.
What does your sister remember about the song? About the same as your recollection?
So update on that: I tried Shazam and nothing really came up, but I guess that's because it only recognizes stuff via the actual song. I tried singing Fatman Scoop's "Be Faithful" songs lyrics but even then it didn't recognize it. As for my sister I did ask her about it a year or something ago, and she doesn't really recall it. I know memories can be falsified and that has happened to me before, but I still wanna see if this song exists in some capacity.
I’d really love to help you track it down, but I just wish we had more clues to go off of.
As far as one more possible clue I can give off is that it when it came to the lick that was used in the video, it came and went here and there in the song. It was definitely not at the beginning. I'm sorry if I can't really be much help, but that tune has been on my mind for years and I'm wondering if it was either real or not.
Hmm, another song that for some reason comes to mind when I hear your recreation is Hum - Stars. There’s a lot of great riffs throughout the song and a prominent lick after the choruses.

These songs slap ngl, but sadly these aren't it. With how little info I feel I can dish out other than the potential lick I remember from the song, it feels like a needle in a haystack type situation. I really hope it isn't another false memory.
