Certainly isn't something I've seen before. Also never heard about the thing with a rejected second Buzz design ending up inspiring an action figure. I actually love stuff like that where the merch somehow represents something lost from the final cut of the movie or show etc.

I actually got a silver buzz figure for Xmas one year (UK) we always presumed it was because they already had a buzz figure from the first movie and they needed something to sell
