What’s a local urban legend in your area?

The Bunny Man.

It started out as people spotting a strange man in the 70s walking around in a bunny suit. That sort of evolved into rumors about him carrying around an axe. There is a place called Bunny Man Bridge which people say he will show up or something about where he drags his victims.

Apparently during Halloween, the police show up to shoo people away because the bridge in in the middle of a neighborhood and people end up trespassing.

The manager of a local bowling alley hung himself in the early 2000s after his wife left him. The bowling alley closed two or three years later and stayed abandoned for a couple years. Supposably it was haunted by the man, people said they would hear someone bowling, see bowling pins fall, lights flicker and heard a man in the office despite their not being a man in the office or anyone bowling at the time. In the mid 2010s the bowling alley was tore down and replaced with apartments. Several people have claimed that he haunts the apartments opening and shutting doors and messing with lights. I know the manager really did hang himself in the bowling alley as I remember my parents talking about it when it happened, as for the whole haunting part of it, I don't honestly know. I only went the that bowling alley a couple times as a kid and all I remember is it smelled bad. The apartments that sit there now have a drug problem and aren't exactly in a great area so I have never been inside them.

A simple doll in a closet. Nothing creepy, just a doll. I do not know why people were scared of it.

I think I actually remember having a nightmare where a killer floating head was about to kill me while I was just relaxing on the couch (I slept on the couch). Not sure if this is it, but the descriptions sounded similar enough. 

I deadass woke up screaming in terror, and I thought those “catapult nightmare reactions” only happened in cartoons!

From what i remember apparently Cry Baby Lane is based off a real urban legend the director heard.
