So there's been countless threads about YouTubers you like, but now hate. But i had the idea to talk about YouTubers whos content you used to hate, but they've improved & now you like them.

Not me, but one of my siblings used to hate DenisDaily because she thought the gimmick where he would talk to his plush cat named “Sir-Meows-A-Lot” was weird. After watching him together though, he started to grow on us both. This was back in December 2019.
I haven’t watched him much since 2021, but he was pretty funny. I doubt he went downhill, I’m just saying I haven’t really gotten around to checking up on his YouTube Channel.

I was way too old for Fred when it came out, so I never got into it. But his current stuff which is more just making fun of media and celebrity culture is pretty funny.

Yeah I wasn't even aware of Fred until long after it came out when I saw him on an episode of iCarly, the Fred Show was OK but he was way better in Marvin Marvin.

Nitro Rad might've rubbed me the wrong way originally in like, 2018 because of some strange thumbnail for his review on Bubsy 3D(not the review itself, I agree with him)? But now I watch his platformer videos & I love those videos A LOT.
Dreams are boundless, imaginations are infinite, space is a multi-directional spiral & Akazukin ChaCha is my favorite anime

Never got the appeal of Fred either, and I don't want to jinx anything by saying this-but the stuff I have seen with Lucas (outside of Fred) in interviews and such, he just seems super nice and wholesome as a person:)

I still like him but dear lord the fact that he did the Frogger marathon for almost a entire year, aka the same game repeatedly was horrible.
I'm nothing but a mass of concrete yet my heart is calling my name

For me, it wasn't too bad. They're not really "the same game", moreso they took the same core gameplay, but tended to do different things with it. I can see someone being sick of him talking about Frogger throughout that year, but personally it wasn't an issue. Another reason could be that the marathon was already done by the time I started watching them before he did a good review of My Frogger: Toy Trials for the DS.

If you weren't there from start to finish, it's not bad but a entire year of just slightly different things is Hell. Sure they did stuff differently from time to time but it quickly became unbearable. At least we have The Great Quest lol The Jimmy Neutron marathon also got boring because he didn't just review the console and handheld versions in the same video. He's one of the few YouTubers I consistently watch so I got bored real fast. Jimmy Neutron is one of the funniest shows to exist though.

Those Frogger videos were actually my introduction to Nitro so I wasn't too bothered by them but I do feel like he's had bad opinions before(especially in regards to the story in the first Mario Galaxy game)and I don't get his bizarre hatred of video games having a double jump, just seems like a weird nitpick to constantly complain about.

I say this as a critique from a fan: He's trying to be a purist and clearly doesn't realize it. He thinks it destroys good level design, but that's not the issue. He's playing shitty games with bad level design that have a double jump. I understand that it CAN ruin some level design but, no ones telling him to just jump over everything. It is a very interesting issue with his channel honestly.
He's trying to be a purist critic that thinks things need to be a certain way, but wants things to branch out. As I get older I've noticed a lot of his videos are very hit and miss. I love his videos, he's one of my favorite YouTubers but really, he thinks he's something he's not. He's not "the platformer guy" like he believes. He's another indie game reviewer that happens to feel unique.
Sorry for my tangent.
TL:DR for anyone who doesn't want to read: He thinks double jumps ruin level design, but the games he reviews are often lack luster and just so happen to have a double jump. Double jump≠Bad design.

I've seen some quirky youtubers in my time, but hating on the double jump of all things just takes the cake.
"oooh, you're a- a freaked out child in the woods..."
