Have you ever encountered fame online, even if it was minor? I've had a few social media accounts, images/memes, and satirical fanfics I've made gain lots of attention before. What are your experiences? (If a thread like this already exists, please take this down! I tried checking but I didn't see anything.)

I guess it depends on what you'd constitute as "fame".
I've written dozens of creepypastas over the years, but one took off pretty well. It was a fan pasta of one of the most popular ones in the community, and mine ended up getting a fan spin-off of its own - which MrCreepyPasta did a reading of a long time ago. I was actually in brief contact with the author before he got banned from the Creepypasta wiki about the idea of doing a collaboration on turning it into a short film of some kind. However, nothing ever came of it and we lost touch. I would still love to do something with the concept one day, but who knows whenever that will happen. On a smaller, probably less impressive scale, was when I co-ran a Walking Dead shitposting blog and one I made relating to the S5 premiere (I think) in real-time, wound up appearing on a popular horror site that posted a review of it a day or two after it aired. That made my day because the meme was so stupid and silly that I didn't think anyone outside that particular site was going to see it.
Branching out to IRL situations, probably when I was working for a haunted attraction and me and one a few co-workers were chosen to perform come scenes for the local news. I think the clip is long gone now, but I make an appearance in it somewhere trying to take a bite out of one of them who has a sort of Daryl Dixon vibe going for him. I think it was online at some point, but I don't think it's been properly archived.
An Example: When I lived abroad as a foreigner/expat/immigrant, I actually had 3-5 local college/young adult guys staring at me and filming me with their phones just walking around the park and going on some rides. That WOULD normally sound scary, but the place itself was heavily known for safety (like "walk around at 3 AM safe"), and like it was awkward looking nerdy guys with clear social anxiety and language barrier. There wouldn't have been anything incriminating anyway. I found it cute moreso than anything else. I think they were just fascinated by my hair and eyes haha. Kind of felt like a minor celebrity there.
I had Moviebob retweet something I said once on one of my old Twitter accounts, also accidentally offended Wyclef Jean when I made fun of his failed bid for president of Haiti.

Since my last post, I remembered at least two more.
Darkrage's comment made me remember that The Cinema Snob included one of my IMDb reviews in one of his videos a long time ago. I'm not exactly sure if that counts as "fame". On a similar note to the creepypasta reading, one of my stories from r/NoSleep was picked up by two people for dramatic readings. I think it's kind of funny since I'll have times where I forgot I even wrote it since it was so long ago. It made one of the offers that much more wild since I didn't know people either still remembered it or were finding it.
Sometimes life is like this dark tunnel. You can't always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you just keep moving... you will come to a better place.
Obeying authoritarian regimes makes you complicit in them.
A fanfic I wrote at about 13 years old wound up posted on a Tumblr blog to make fun of objectively horrible fan made content for a certain fandom. It got enough traction that someone drew fanart for it, but they asked to remain anonymous so I still don't know who did such a thing.. www
I hold no hard feelings for it winding up there since it was many years ago. I just find it funny nowadays.
How about you? How will you live a life that faces death?
Another example I thought of: Years ago, I was doing live (text) commentary for a TV show that was airing in real time. My text actually got some decent traction among other fans, and the show host actually saw my comments and mentioned that the company should hire me to do show commentary haha.

I've had my comments featured and i've been mentioned by username in LSuperSonicQ's videos and AllThingsLost once(for my discovery of the TV version of Homeward Bound).
Also I did an interview for the Chicago Field Museum in spring 2005 when my family took a day trip there, there was a radio program there doing interviews for the website and I decided to do one for the heck of it and I got asked about my hobbies and interests and things like that(I remember mentioning enjoying the movie Star Crystal that i'd watched earlier that day before me and my family left for Chicago)I never did listen to that interview though and i'd love to be able to find it.

the only thing i can remember is that someone drew fanart of my original character. it might not be that interesting but it made me surprised when i first saw it.
čtyřlístek fan (out of 2 including me). im on discord aswell.
I remember getting my first bits of fame on commenting a fake encounter Story on a fake Annoying Orange game that was a virus, and the video was about the footage of that said game. I got around 115 likes from that comment if you are wondering.
You should never underestimate the power of Bazinga.
