Have not heard about this search until now, since I've not been super active in the community. I just had someone reply to one of my Japanese commercial compilations on YouTube to tell me that "EKT isn't on here!!" and I had absolutely no clue what the hell they were talking about. Reading this thread, I'm still very confused, though I'll keep my eyes peeled for it.
We’re extremely close to cracking this, I can just feel it. With people working on automated programs to scour the entire web for mentions, this song going viral on TikTok, and more, it’s definitely gonna be found this year.
As for Osny Melo, he’s been contacted and is aware of this search now, a response is just needed As for the unknown Texas artist, we don’t know who it is, but we’re digging into the phone number and building on the CD As for Johnny Glove, we know barely anything about him, there’s little trace of him on the internet.
I live close to the area where the song in Texas was recorded, perhaps I can go on a 2-hourish drive over there soon because I know for a fact in that general area, there’s a thrift store with TONS (and I mean TONS, like 200-250) of random music CDs there, so I can go there and look to see if I can find a disc made in the same building, or perhaps I could stumble across the Johnny Glove cassette album or something.
People say I'm insan-o and I should go into Arkham everytime I say it'll be found this year. Tons tell me they wouldn't be suprised if it isn't found at all. I believe though it will be found in 2024. It started on WZS, We've got it on Reddit, We've got it on LMW, we've got it on Tik Tok, we've got it on news, I BELIEVE!!!

That's suprising considering how much it's blown up. If you want to learn more watch this video Kylie and BlameItOnJorge made about it.
Interestingly, a blog named whitemike.blogspot.com/ exists, but was removed. It’s not on the wayback machine or archive.today either unfortunately
It could be related to White Mike Johnny Glove, who knows?
Maybe this info could be passed along to the subreddit ( www.reddit.com/r/everyoneknowsthat/ ) if we’re desperate enough lol, I certainly can’t post there because I’m karmaless
Edit: Found a new 73q page for Johnny that no one seems to have seen: www.73q.com/video.php?vid=10213 Basically shows nothing new though

Alright, here's the draft I came up with if you want to use it (edit as you feel is needed)
Hello, I’m from the Lost Media Wiki and I’ve been looking into a snippet of a song that has currently been unidentified for some time. (Possibly link song here, or later at the end). I think that the song itself may be a demo or fragment of a song, and it sounds rather similar to some of your earlier works from the 80s.
If you could listen to it, do you happen to recognize this at all, know anything about it, or know someone who might be able to shed more light on this?
Also, apologies if you have already been asked about this before.
its okay because despiD already sent it, but as an unspoken rule, NEVER say that you are from the lost media wiki. never make it look like you are from a group of people searching. heres what i would have sent: "Hello, I’m from the Lost Media Wiki and I’ve been looking into a snippet of a song.."" anyways, your message was great, but next time try not to mention a search effort or the lmw. some things are better unsaid.
Could you explain why you shouldn't? I find that "logic" stupid and unfounded.
Update: Unsent the message because of what yoshifr said, but now it won't let me send it without the LMW part(most likely because of instagram's spam policy) imma wait 6 days to send it again.

I think it mainly boils down to if the person would be as receptive or not. They might not want to get involved with something that a large group of people are involved with, maybe they don't want to be exposed to the potential of being questioned by approximately 50000 semi-rabid reddit users (Joke), but if you are approached by one person asking about it, it feels a bit more personal and less of a "We have been trying to reach you..."

Thats just my take on it, though.
Yeah, contacting should never include “we”, just “I”
And similarly, contacting should also never contain usernames like “Kind regards, MagicToeEraser12” and instead should be “Kind regards, (name)”
